Residential Development, Bristol

A new-build residential development of 3 apartments located within an existing gap site in the centre of Bristol. The proposed building responds to its urban location and setting and will be contemporary in nature, using a variety of materials as a means of resonating with the existing buildings taking inspiration from the varied characteristics of the site.

Different materials and colours have been used at ground and upper floor levels to introduce a horizontality to the elevations.  The relative sizes of fibre cement panels to the upper floors have been deliberately set differently to each other to visually break down elevations of the building and provide interest, which also reflects the mixed architectural styles and more informal nature of the area.
